There’s something euphoric about cracking into a new bag of Japanese green tea.
This week’s obsession: a fresh 50g of Fukamushi Sencha from Yame (Kyushu). It’s bold, surprisingly smoky, and steeped with character—literally. Deep-steamed to perfection, the flavor blooms in just 30–45 seconds with 70–80°C (158-178° F) water.
As a self-proclaimed serial sipper, the fact I got five brews out of one spoonful makes my day.
It’s a simple, peaceful ritual with just enough precision to feel meaningful—and not at all intimidating.
