August Wisdom: Wear That Which Fits
Share
I’m a little late sharing this month’s Karhu Studio Kyoto calendar.
Life has been lifing.
Some months flow exactly as planned.
Others gently remind us that we’re human.
Perhaps that’s why August’s message landed so deeply with me:
“Wear that which fits.”
At first glance, it sounds almost too simple.
But the longer I sat with it, the more I realized it wasn’t really talking about clothing.
It was asking a much bigger question:
What in your life actually fits?
Does your pace fit this season?
Do your commitments fit your capacity?
Do your relationships fit the person you’re becoming?
Sometimes we hold onto expectations simply because we’ve carried them for a long time.
Other times, we try to become someone we think we’re supposed to be.
But tea has quietly taught me something different.
The most beautiful rituals aren’t forced.
They flow.
Perhaps that’s the invitation this month.
To wear what fits.
To release what doesn’t.
To trust that a life lived honestly will always feel lighter than one spent trying to meet someone else’s expectations.
Thank you, as always, to Karhu Studio Kyoto for another thoughtful monthly reflection.
Here’s to a gentle August.
May it fit you well.
