Brewing Sencha in My Favorite Thrifted Teapot (Rebrew Friendly!)
Share
You don’t need fancy tools to create peaceful, delicious tea moments.
Today I’m steeping a delicate teaspoon of classic loose leaf Sencha at 160°F for 60 seconds — the result? A smooth, umami-rich cup of Japanese green tea perfection.
Even better, I’m using my beloved cast iron teapot I scored at Goodwill — proof that affordable finds can elevate your tea ritual beautifully.
Simple steps for a perfect Sencha brew:
1️⃣ Add 1 tsp of Sencha to your teapot.
2️⃣ Pour 160°F water (use my 1/4 method if needed!).
3️⃣ Steep for 60 seconds.
4️⃣ Pour, sip, and enjoy every smooth, umami-filled moment.
5️⃣ Rebrew those leaves at least 3-4 times — each steep brings out new, evolving flavors.
