Carrying Treasures — The Story Behind My Silk Kimono Tea Set Pouch

Carrying Treasures — The Story Behind My Silk Kimono Tea Set Pouch

Tea is more than a drink — it’s a ritual, a moment of pause, and for me, a collection of beloved tools.

When I travel with my tea set, I want it to feel safe, wrapped in something that honors its value. That’s why I created this pouch from repurposed vintage silk kimono fabric.

In Japanese, there’s an expression: 宝を抱くが如し (takara o idaku ga gotoshi) — “as if cradling a treasure.”

Every time I place my kyusu, chawan, or whisk inside, that’s exactly the sensation — care, respect, and appreciation.

Soon, these pouches will be available on my website, ready to carry not only tea sets but anything you hold dear. Until then, I’ll keep cradling my treasures, one tea journey at a time.
