Cultivating a Little More Whimsy
Share
I've been thinking about something I shared the other day—that sometimes, while drinking matcha and enjoying a beautiful wagashi, I feel a little like a forest fairy.
The funny thing is...
I wasn't really joking.
Not because I want to escape reality, but because I want to experience it more fully.
Whimsy has a way of slowing us down.
It invites us to notice the flower blooming beside the path.
To admire the craftsmanship of a handmade sweet.
To whisk a bowl of matcha without looking at the clock.
Tea has quietly taught me that beauty isn't reserved for extraordinary moments.
It's woven into ordinary ones.
Perhaps whimsy is simply another word for paying attention.
For choosing delight.
For allowing ourselves to remain playful, even as adults.
So this weekend, I'm giving myself permission to lean into that feeling.
More tea.
More flowers.
More handmade things.
More moments that make me smile for no particular reason.
Maybe that's the real magic.
I hope your weekend is filled with a little wonder, a little peace, and just enough whimsy to remind you that life can still surprise you.
