December Reflections with Karhu Studio Kyoto

“It’s Not the Ears, Paws, Nose or Fur, but Eyes That Count.”
As 2025 winds down, I always find myself drawn back to the quiet, contemplative world of Karhu Studio Kyoto. Their December woodblock print comes with a saying that feels especially meaningful this year:
✨ “It’s not the ears, paws, nose or fur, but eyes that count.”
This whimsical line—reminds us that the essence of a being is found not in outer features, but in presence.
The eyes reveal sincerity, spirit, and how we truly relate to the world around us.
December has a way of pulling us into reflection.
For me, it also pulled me offline for a bit.
I’ve been spending time with family, recalibrating, and remembering the importance of showing up with clarity and softness.
Now, as I return to my work and this space, this message feels like a perfect guide into the new year:
See clearly. Show up honestly.
Let presence—not perfection—lead you.
Thank you, as always, for sharing these moments of art, tea, and quiet growth with me.
It feels good to be back. 🍵✨
