Genmai-Matcha: Rustic Warmth, Bright Lift
Share
Genmai-Matcha is one of those blends that feels both nostalgic and modern.
At its foundation is deep-steamed green tea — rich, full-bodied, vibrant. Layered into it is roasted brown rice, bringing warmth, softness, and a subtle nutty aroma. Finally, matcha powder is added, lifting the entire cup with brightness and a gentle wave of energy.
The result?
Comfort with clarity.
Rustic depth with refined lift.
How to Brew Genmai-Matcha
-
Measure approximately 1 teaspoon of loose leaf per cup.
-
Heat water to 170–180°F (about 80°C).
-
Steep for 45–60 seconds.
-
Pour and enjoy. Re-steep 2–3 times, increasing temperature slightly and shortening steep time.
Because of the matcha powder, the liquor will appear slightly clouded — that’s part of its beauty. You are drinking both infusion and suspension, leaf and lift.
Genmai-Matcha is energizing but mellow. The roasted rice smooths the intensity of matcha, making it an approachable yet deeply satisfying daily tea.
