How to Brew Fukamushi Sencha (with Peonies & Peace)

Sometimes, the most powerful moments are the quiet ones: spooning leaves, pouring warm water, and watching vibrant green unfurl into liquid gold.

Today, I brewed Fukamushi Sencha from Kyushu—a deep-steamed Japanese green tea with intense umami and layered complexity. The key? Brew gently and completely so you can steep again (and again… and again).

🌱 How to Brew It:

✨Spoon a heaping teaspoon of sencha into your favorite teapot or brewing vessel.

Pour 8–9 oz of water at 158–178°F. I like to cheat a little: ¼ room temp water + ¾ boiling water = the perfect brew temp.

✨Steep for 30–60 seconds. Let the leaves swirl, float, and bloom.

✨Sieve + Enjoy—make sure you get every last drop out so you can rebrew this beauty multiple times.

Brew with intention. Sip with peace.
🌸 Bonus: I had the company of a peony the size of my face. Nature's energy is real—so let it elevate your tea time.
