How to Brew Kuki-Matcha (Japanese Twig Tea) for the Perfect Slow Living Moment
Share
There’s something magical about carving out five minutes for yourself—just you, hot water, and a beautiful cup of tea. Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite rituals: brewing Kuki-Matcha, a type of Japanese green tea made from the stems and twigs of the tea plant. It has a mellow, nutty sweetness that pairs beautifully with a cozy moment at home.
How to Brew Kuki-Matcha:
1) Choose a high-quality kukicha or kuki-matcha blend (check out ours here)
2) Heat your water to about 160–170 °F (cooler than boiling to avoid bitterness)
3) Steep for just 1 minute
4) Pour, sip slowly, and let your brain catch up with your body
Bonus: I’m enjoying mine in a gorgeous mug by @arielzimman, a talented PNW ceramic artist who makes every sip feel like art.

If you’ve ever wanted to turn your tea time into a luxury moment, this is your sign. 🌿
