How to Rebrew Sencha Tea + Take Your Tea Time Outdoors
Share
Loose-leaf Sencha deserves a second (and third) chance.
If you're like me, you love the grassy, umami-rich first steep—but did you know your Sencha can evolve with each rebrew?
Today I brewed a second steep of Kyushu Sencha in my Zojirushi tumbler, upped the water temperature a little, and let it steep longer to draw out those dynamic, earthy tones. Then I took it outside for some sun, birdsong, and a little peace.
How to Rebrew Sencha Like a Pro:
🍃Use your spent Sencha leaves from steep #1
🍃Heat water to 170–185°F
🍃Steep for 15–30 seconds depending on preference
🍃Pour into your favorite travel tumbler (Zojirushi keeps it warm and perfect!)
🍃Step outside, breathe, and sip
This ritual is a quiet reminder that life—like tea—is meant to be savored again and again.
Don’t toss those leaves too soon. 🌱
And a gentle nudge: green tea contains caffeine, so balance your cup with a glass of water. Hydration = harmony.
