Jeju Island Matcha Review: First Impressions from a Kyoto Tea Lover

I’m always grateful for the chance to explore new tea, especially when it comes from dear friends. Today I tried a premium, organic first-flush matcha from Jeju Island, South Korea — grown by @osulloc_official, a tea farm with roots dating back to 1979.

If you’re wondering, first-flush means the tea is harvested from the earliest, most tender tea leaves of the season — prized for their high quality, bold flavor, and vibrant color. And let me tell you, the color didn’t disappoint… but this one’s strong! Incredibly astringent, very bitter — I’ll definitely be testing it as a latte soon to mellow it out.

The container? Let’s just say, not the most user-friendly… but hey, it’s what’s inside that counts.

So grateful for this little taste of Jeju Island — maybe one day I’ll sip matcha there in person.
