Returning to Peace: A Matcha Latte Ritual

Returning to Peace: A Matcha Latte Ritual

I’ve been a little quiet lately.

Sometimes life asks us to step away — to rest, to recalibrate, to come back home to ourselves.

For me, that return often begins with tea.

This simple matcha latte has become a small ritual of grounding:

• 4g ceremonial grade Jyoraku Matcha
• ¼ cup warm water (165–175°F)
• A touch of maple syrup
• ⅓ cup grass-fed A2 whole milk

Whisked together, it becomes something more than just a drink — it becomes a moment.

In Japanese tea philosophy, there is a concept known as:

和敬清寂 (Wa Kei Sei Jaku)
Harmony. Respect. Purity. Tranquility.

These are not ideals to achieve, but qualities to return to — through simple, intentional acts.

Matcha itself supports this state in a very real, physical way.

It contains L-theanine, an amino acid known to promote relaxation and mental clarity, working in harmony with natural caffeine to provide calm, sustained energy. It is also rich in catechins, antioxidants that support both physical and mental well-being.

This is why matcha has been used for centuries in meditative practices — not just for alertness, but for presence.

A quiet, steady clarity.

If you’ve been feeling off-center, overwhelmed, or simply distant from yourself — consider this your reminder:

You already have the tools to come back.

Sometimes it just starts with a bowl of tea.

Love you tea babes xo
