The Art of a Very Simple Weekend

The Art of a Very Simple Weekend

Some weekends don’t need an itinerary.

Walk through a park.

Sip good tea.

Go see an ikebana exhibition and marvel at what someone can communicate with a few branches and flowers.

Wander.

Notice things.

Take your sweet time.

I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to associate a “beautiful life” with having more—more experiences, more things, more plans.

But some of the richest moments cost very little.

A beautiful cup of Japanese green tea is one of them.

Green tea naturally contains polyphenols called catechins, including EGCG. These compounds have been widely studied, and clinical research suggests green-tea consumption may have modest beneficial effects on certain cardiovascular risk markers.

Lovely.

But I don’t need every cup to become a wellness strategy.

Sometimes tea is good simply because I sat down long enough to taste it.

And perhaps that’s the weekend reminder:

A simple life doesn’t have to be a small life.

Fill it with parks.
Art.
Flowers.
People you love.
Really good tea.

Notice what’s beautiful.

That’s plenty. 🍵🌿

Love you tea babes xo,
