Welcoming the New Year with Tea & Wagashi

新春万福 — Abundant Blessings

The New Year doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes, it begins with tea.

This season, I’m honored to pair Flowering Waters matcha with Tokara-san’s handcrafted wagashi — Japanese sweets made using age-old Kyoto traditions that reflect the quiet beauty of winter. Each piece is shaped by hand, guided by seasonality, patience, and respect for nature.

In Japan, the phrase 新春万福 (shinshun manpuku) expresses a wish for abundant blessings in the year ahead — not excess, but fullness. Health. Presence. Gratitude.
