When the Sakuras Are Sakuraing
Share
There’s a moment in spring that feels almost unreal.
The sakuras are blooming — fully, softly, all at once.
And just as quickly, they begin to fall.
It’s one of my favorite things to witness in this life.
In Japan, cherry blossoms are often considered the most beautiful of flowers. There’s a saying:
花は桜木、人は武士
Among flowers, the cherry blossom.
Not because it is the most extravagant.
But because it is the most fleeting.
Its beauty is inseparable from its impermanence.
Spring teaches us something quietly profound:
Change is not something to resist.
It is something to appreciate.
Most of the beauty in our lives exists in transition —
in the in-between, in the becoming, in the moments that don’t last.
The blossoms don’t try to hold on.
They bloom, fully.
And then they let go.
If something in your life is blooming right now — a feeling, a season, a connection — allow yourself to experience it completely.
Thank goodness for change.
It carries more beauty than we often realize.
