Why I Keep Returning to Genmaicha from Yame 🍵
Share
Some teas are more than delicious—they’re comforting. They bring warmth, calm, and a touch of nostalgia to your everyday.
Genmaicha (Not to be confused with Genmai-Matcha) is one of those teas. And this particular blend from @nakashimaseicha in Yame, Fukuoka is one I return to again and again. It’s a blend of roasted brown rice, green tea, and matcha—the perfect mix of nutty, smooth, and vibrant.
We affectionately call it “Popcorn Tea” in my family because of its cozy aroma and toasted flavor. And it’s forgiving, which makes it an easy go-to no matter your tea level.
💡 How to brew:
• 1 tsp of tea
• 175°F (80°C) water
• Steep 30–60 seconds
• Rebrew 1–2 times
Bonus? It still tastes smooth even if you oversteep it. I enjoyed this one alongside my leftover ikebana flowers—proof that beauty and peace are already around you. Sometimes, you just need to pour a cup to notice it. 🍵💐
