A Simple Tea Time
Share
There are moments that don’t ask for much.
Just a bowl of tea.
A small sweet.
A bit of sunlight.
This tea time came together quietly — with sweets my Urasenkei sensei brought back from Japan. Soft, delicate, made with chestnut and sweet bean paste. Something like mini ohagi.
Paired with matcha, it felt complete.
The weather has been especially beautiful lately. Flowers blooming, light shifting — the kind of day that invites you to slow down, even just a little.
So I did.
A proper matcha session, using Jyoraku matcha.
Nothing complicated. Nothing elaborate.
Just my Jyoraku Matcha and something sweet.
There’s something grounding about returning to traditional pairings — matcha and wagashi — the way they were meant to be enjoyed.
Balanced. Intentional. Enough.
It’s easy to think that peace has to be created through big changes.
But sometimes, it’s already there.
In the way you choose to spend a moment.
In the way you enjoy something simple.
And maybe that’s the reminder:
You can create peace
just by living your life.
