Matcha in the Open PNW Air: A Springtime Ritual of Renewal

Matcha in the Open PNW Air: A Springtime Ritual of Renewal

Today, I followed the call of sunshine.

With my whisk, bowl, and a few grams of Jyoraku Matcha, I stepped outside and created a tea space beneath the trees.

I’ve long admired outdoor tea ceremony practitioners who bring their rituals into forests, beaches, and mountains. There’s something healing about practicing presence in nature—a kind of sacred simplicity.

In the Pacific Northwest, spring sunshine feels like a gentle permission to begin again. The warmth, the green, the newness in the air… it all complements matcha so naturally.

If you’ve never tried making tea outside, this is your sign.

You don’t need a perfect setup. Just a patch of ground, a little breeze, and your favorite matcha.

Let the season stir your spirit.
